యువతను మత్తు పదార్థాల బారిన పడకుండా కాపాడటమే లక్ష్యంగా పాలకొల్లులోని గౌతమి డిగ్రీ కళాశాలలో డ్రగ్స్ వ్యతిరేక అవగాహన సదస్సు ఘనంగా నిర్వహించారు. డిప్యూటీ కమిషనర్, ప్రొహిబిషన్ అండ్ ఎక్సైజ్, ఏలూరు ఆదేశాల మేరకు నిర్వహించిన ఈ కార్యక్రమంలో విద్యార్థులకు నార్కోటిక్ డ్రగ్స్, సైకోట్రోపిక్ పదార్థాలు, మద్యం దుర్వినియోగం వల్ల కలిగే ప్రమాదాలపై సమగ్ర అవగాహన కల్పించారు.
ఎన్డీపీఎస్ చట్టం కింద కఠిన శిక్షలు :
సదస్సులో ఎక్సైజ్ ఇన్స్పెక్టర్ మద్దాల శ్రీనివాస్ మాట్లాడుతూ :.
గంజాయి, డ్రగ్స్, ఇతర మత్తు పదార్థాల వినియోగం వ్యక్తిగత ఆరోగ్యాన్ని మాత్రమే కాకుండా కుటుంబాలు, సమాజాన్ని కూడా తీవ్రంగా ప్రభావితం చేస్తుందని వివరించారు. నార్కోటిక్ డ్రగ్స్ అండ్ సైకోట్రోపిక్ సబ్స్టాన్సెస్ (ఎన్డీపీఎస్) చట్టం కింద నమోదయ్యే నేరాలకు కఠినమైన జైలు శిక్షలు, భారీ జరిమానాలు విధిస్తారని విద్యార్థులకు తెలియజేశారు. తాత్కాలిక ఆనందం కోసం మత్తుకు బానిసైతే జీవిత లక్ష్యాలు దూరమవుతాయని హెచ్చరించారు.
అనుమానాస్పద కార్యకలాపాలపై వెంటనే సమాచారం ఇవ్వాలి :
మత్తు పదార్థాల అక్రమ రవాణా, విక్రయాలు లేదా వినియోగానికి సంబంధించిన అనుమానాస్పద కార్యకలాపాలు ఎక్కడైనా కనిపిస్తే వెంటనే పాలకొల్లు ప్రొహిబిషన్ అండ్ ఎక్సైజ్ సర్కిల్ కార్యాలయానికి సమాచారం అందించాలని కోరారు. ప్రజల సహకారంతోనే డ్రగ్స్ రహిత సమాజ నిర్మాణం సాధ్యమవుతుందని పేర్కొన్నారు.
ఆరోగ్యకర జీవన విధానమే విజయానికి మార్గం :
విద్యార్థులు మత్తు పదార్థాలకు పూర్తిగా దూరంగా ఉండి విద్య, క్రీడలు, సృజనాత్మక కార్యక్రమాలపై దృష్టి సారించాలని సూచించారు. ఆరోగ్యకరమైన జీవనశైలి, మంచి అలవాట్లు యువతను ఉన్నత శిఖరాలకు చేర్చగలవని పేర్కొన్నారు. కార్యక్రమంలో కళాశాల అధ్యాపకులు, ఎక్సైజ్ శాఖ సిబ్బంది, పెద్ద సంఖ్యలో విద్యార్థులు పాల్గొన్నారు.

Narcotic Substances Pose a Serious Threat to the Future of Youth

An Anti-Drug Awareness Seminar was successfully conducted at Gautami Degree College in Palakollu with the objective of protecting young people from the dangers of narcotic substances. The programme was organized under the directions of the Deputy Commissioner, Prohibition & Excise, Eluru. During the seminar, students were educated about the harmful effects of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, and alcohol abuse.
Strict Punishments Under the NDPS Act :
Addressing the gathering, Excise Inspector Maddala Srinivas explained that the consumption of ganja, drugs, and other intoxicating substances not only damages an individual’s health but also has serious consequences for families and society as a whole.
He informed students that offences registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act attract stringent penalties, including imprisonment and heavy fines. He cautioned that becoming addicted to drugs for temporary pleasure can derail one’s life goals and future aspirations.
Report Suspicious Activities Immediately :
The Excise Inspector urged the public and students to promptly
report any suspicious activities related to the illegal transportation, sale, or consumption of narcotic substances to the Palakollu Prohibition & Excise Circle Office. He emphasized that a drug-free society can only be achieved through active public participation and cooperation.
A Healthy Lifestyle Is the Path to Success :
Students were advised to stay completely away from drugs and intoxicants and instead focus on education, sports, and creative pursuits. He highlighted that a healthy lifestyle and positive habits can help young people achieve success and reach greater heights in life.
The programme was attended by college faculty members, Excise Department officials, and a large number of students.
