కొల్లేరు ఆక్వా రైతుల కష్టాలకు ముగింపు పలికే రోజు త్వరలోనే వస్తుందన్నారు ఏలూరు ఎంపీ పుట్టా మహేష్ కుమార్. గురువారం రాత్రి ఏలూరు నుంచి ఢిల్లీ బయలుదేరిన ఎంపీకి కొల్లేరుపై సుప్రీం కోర్టు నియమించిన కేంద్ర సాధికార కమిటీ (CEC) ఛైర్మన్ సీపీ గోయల్ విజయవాడ ఎయిర్ పోర్టులో కలిశారు. కాసేపు గోయల్ తో ఎయిర్ పోర్టు లాబీలో భేటీ అయిన ఎంపీ పుట్టా మహేష్ కుమార్ కొల్లేరు సమస్యపై చర్చించారు.

పర్యావరణ పరిరక్షణకు భంగం కలగకుండా, అదే సమయంలో స్థానిక ప్రజల న్యాయసమ్మత హక్కులు, జీవనోపాధి కాపాడేలా కాంటూరు కుదింపు అంశం పరిశీలించి త్వరగా సుప్రీం కోర్టుకు నివేదిక సమర్పించాలని ఎంపీ కోరారు. ఈ సందర్భంగా CEC ఛైర్మన్ గోయల్ సానుకూలంగా స్పందించారని, ఏపీ పర్యటనలో భాగంగా సీఎం చంద్రబాబుతో, కైకలూరు ఎమ్మెల్యే కామినేని శ్రీనివాస్ తో కూడా చర్చించినట్లు గోయల్ తెలిపారన్నారు. వీలైనంత త్వరలో నివేదిక సమర్పిస్తామని గోయల్ హమీ ఇచ్చినట్లు ఎంపీ పుట్టా మహేష్ కుమార్ వెల్లడించారు.

Eluru MP Putta Mahesh Kumar stated that the day marking the end of the hardships faced by aqua farmers in the Kolleru region is fast approaching. On Thursday night, the MP—who had departed from Eluru for Delhi—met with C.P. Goyal, the Chairman of the Central Empowered Committee (CEC) appointed by the Supreme Court regarding the Kolleru issue, at the Vijayawada Airport. MP Putta Mahesh Kumar held a brief meeting with Mr. Goyal in the airport lobby, during which they discussed the Kolleru issue. The MP requested Mr. Goyal to specify when the report concerning Kolleru—which is due for submission to the Supreme Court—would be completed; subsequently, the MP released a statement to the media from Delhi, summarizing the details of their discussion. In his statement, the MP noted that he had urged the Chairman to focus his efforts on resolving the Kolleru issue, emphasizing that its resolution is vital for safeguarding the interests of lakhs of aqua farmers and the general public. MP Putta Mahesh Kumar expressed concern over the prolonged delay in the demarcation of the boundaries for the Kolleru Wildlife Sanctuary. The MP urged that the issue of contour reduction be examined expeditiously—ensuring that environmental conservation remains uncompromised while simultaneously safeguarding the legitimate rights and livelihoods of the local populace—and that a report be submitted to the Supreme Court at the earliest. In this regard, the MP noted that CEC Chairman Goyal responded positively, stating that he had already held discussions with CM Chandrababu and Kaikalur MLA Kamineni Srinivas during his recent visit to Andhra Pradesh. MP Putta Mahesh Kumar further revealed that Mr. Goyal gave an assurance that the report would be submitted as soon as possible.
