ఏలూరు నగరంలో గంజాయి విక్రయాలు నిర్వహిస్తున్న ముఠాను టూ టౌన్ పోలీసులు పట్టుకుని ఐదుగురిని అరెస్ట్ చేశారు. ఈ ఘటనకు సంబంధించి పోలీసులు Cr.No:112/2026గా కేసు నమోదు చేసి దర్యాప్తు కొనసాగిస్తున్నారు.
పోలీసుల వివరాల ప్రకారం :
కుమ్మరి రేవు 2వ రోడ్డుకు చెందిన దొడ్డి రామ నాగేశ్వరరావు, కర్రీ సత్యనారాయణలకు గంజాయి సేవించే అలవాటు ఉంది. ఇటీవల గంజాయి విక్రయాలు, వినియోగంపై పోలీసు నిఘా పెరగడంతో స్థానికంగా గంజాయి దొరకడం కష్టమైంది. దీంతో దొడ్డి రామ నాగేశ్వరరావు స్వయంగా సీలేరు ప్రాంతానికి వెళ్లి రూ.14 వేలతో రెండు కిలోల గంజాయిని కొనుగోలు చేసి ఏలూరుకు తీసుకొచ్చాడు.
తర్వాత గంజాయిని చిన్న చిన్న ప్యాకెట్లుగా తయారు చేసి రూ.500 చొప్పున విక్రయిస్తున్నట్లు సమాచారం అందుకున్న పోలీసులు….

ఎస్ఐ రామకృష్ణ సిబ్బందితో కలిసి దొడ్డి రామ నాగేశ్వరరావు నివాసంలో దాడి నిర్వహించగా.. దొడ్డి రామ నాగేశ్వరరావు, కర్రీ సత్యనారాయణతో పాటు గౌతు శేషు, బంగారు దుర్గాప్రసాద్, చందాని పృధ్వీరాజులను అదుపులోకి తీసుకున్నారు.
వారి వద్ద నుంచి 650 గ్రాముల గంజాయి, రూ.300 నగదు, గంజాయి సేవించేందుకు ఉపయోగించిన మూడు ప్లాస్టిక్ కూల్డ్రింక్ బాటిళ్లను స్వాధీనం చేసుకున్నారు. కేసు ఛేదనలో కీలకంగా వ్యవహరించిన కానిస్టేబుల్ దుర్గారావు, హోంగార్డు పి.శ్రీనివాస్లను అధికారులు అభినందించి రివార్డులకు సిఫార్సు చేశారు.

Police Seize 650 Grams of Contraband During Raid
Eluru Two Town Police busted an alleged ganja distribution network in Eluru city and arrested five persons in connection with the case. Police registered a case under Cr.No.112/2026 under relevant sections of the NDPS Act and launched further investigation.
According to police officials, the prime accused, Doddi Rama Nageswara Rao and Karri Satyanarayana, residents of Kummari Revu 2nd Road in Eluru, were habitual consumers of ganja. With intensified police surveillance on narcotics sale and consumption in recent months, ganja reportedly became difficult to procure locally. Taking advantage of the demand, Rama Nageswara Rao allegedly travelled to the Sileru region and purchased two kilograms of ganja for Rs.14,000 before transporting it to Eluru.
Police said the contraband was being packed into small packets and sold for Rs.500 each. Acting on credible information, Eluru Two Town Inspector K. Ashok Kumar directed SI Ramakrishna and his team to conduct a raid at the accused’s residence.
During the operation, police apprehended Doddi Rama Nageswara Rao, Karri Satyanarayana, Gauthu Sheshu, Bangaru Durgaprasad, and Chandani Prudhviraju. Officers seized 650 grams of ganja, Rs.300 in cash, and three plastic cool-drink bottles allegedly used for consuming the substance.
Police officials appreciated Constable Durga Rao and Home Guard P. Srinivas for their role in the successful operation and recommended them for rewards.
