జాతీయజెండా రూపకర్త పింగళి వెంకయ్య 150వ జయంతిని పురస్కరించుకుని జంగారెడ్డిగూడెంలో 2 కిలోమీటర్ల భారీ జాతీయజెండా ప్రదర్శన నిర్వహించారు. టీడీపీ రాష్ట్ర అధికార ప్రతినిధి డా. దాసరి శ్యామ్చంద్ర శేషు ఆధ్వర్యంలో దాకారపు కృష్ణ, పొల్నాటి బాబ్జి, రాజన పండు, పాలపర్తి శ్రీను తదితరుల సహకారంతో జరిగిన ర్యాలీని ఏలూరు ఎంపీ పుట్టా మహేష్ జెండా ఊపి ప్రారంభించారు.
ఎంపీతో పాటు మాజీ ఎమ్మెల్యే గంటా మురళి, మాజీ డీసీసీబీ చైర్మన్ కరాటం రాంబాబు, బీజేపీ జిల్లా అధ్యక్షుడు విక్రమ్ కిషోర్ తదితరులు రెండు కిలోమీటర్లు నడిచి విద్యార్థుల్లో దేశభక్తిని చాటారు.
ఈ సందర్భంగా ఎంపీ మహేష్ మాట్లాడుతూ :
పింగళి వెంకయ్య జయంతిని పురస్కరించుకుని ఇంత భారీగా కార్యక్రమం నిర్వహించడం అభినందనీయమన్నారు. యువతలో దేశభక్తిని పెంపొందించేలా మరిన్ని కార్యక్రమాలు నిర్వహించాలని పిలుపునిచ్చారు.
కరాటం రాంబాబు మాట్లాడుతూ :
పింగళి వెంకయ్య సేవలను యువతకు తెలియజేసేలా పాఠ్యపుస్తకాల్లో చేర్చాలని కోరారు. శేషు మాట్లాడుతూ దేశానికి ప్రత్యేక జెండా ఉండాలనే ఆలోచనతో పింగళి వెంకయ్య 19 ఏళ్ల వయసులోనే కృషి ప్రారంభించారని, గాంధీజీ సూచనలతో త్రివర్ణ పతాక రూపకల్పనకు దోహదపడ్డారని తెలిపారు. ఆయనకు భారతరత్న ఇవ్వాలని కోరారు.
ర్యాలీలో ప్రజలు, విద్యార్థులు, ప్రభుత్వ, ప్రైవేటు విద్యాసంస్థల ప్రతినిధులు, వివిధ స్వచ్ఛంద సంస్థల సభ్యులు పెద్ద సంఖ్యలో పాల్గొన్నారు. అనంతరం హైస్కూల్లో నిర్వహించిన సభలో దేశభక్తిని చాటే సాంస్కృతిక కార్యక్రమాలు ఆకట్టుకున్నాయి. ఈ కార్యక్రమంలో సరిపల్లి MVR విద్యానికేతన్ అధినేత రవిని ప్రత్యేకంగా ఎంపీ పుట్టా మహేష్ శాలువ కప్పి సత్కరించారు.
Patriotic fervour grips Jangareddygudem with 2-km Tricolour march
A wave of patriotic fervour swept through Jangareddygudem as a massive two-kilometre-long Tricolour march was organised to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Pingali Venkayya, the designer of India’s national flag.
The march, organised under the leadership of TDP state spokesperson Dr Dasari Shyam Chandra Sesh and with the support of Dakaarapu Krishna, Polnati Babji, Rajana Pandu, Palaparthi Srinu and others, was formally flagged off by Eluru MP Putta Mahesh Kumar.
The MP, along with former MLA Ganta Murali, former DCCB chairman Karatam Rambabu and BJP district president Vikram Kishore, walked the entire two-kilometre stretch alongside students and participants, highlighting the importance of patriotism and national pride among the younger generation.
Speaking on the occasion, MP Putta Mahesh Kumar appreciated the organisers for conducting the programme on such a large scale and said initiatives celebrating national icons would help instil patriotism among the youth. He called for more such programmes aimed at fostering a sense of national responsibility among students.
Former DCCB chairman Karatam Rambabu urged the government to include the contributions and legacy of Pingali Venkayya in school textbooks so that his role in the making of the national flag could be better understood by future generations.
Dr Dasari Shyam Chandra Sesh said Venkayya began working towards the idea of a distinct national flag at a young age and later contributed significantly to the evolution of the Tricolour following Mahatma Gandhi’s suggestions. He also demanded that Venkayya be conferred the Bharat Ratna in recognition of his contribution to the nation.
The march witnessed the participation of a large number of people, students, representatives of government and private educational institutions, and members of various voluntary organisations.
A cultural programme showcasing patriotic themes was organised later at the local high school and received an enthusiastic response from the audience.
During the programme, MP Putta Mahesh Kumar felicitated Ravi, head of Saripalli MVR Vidyanikethan, by draping a shawl over him in recognition of his contribution and support to the event.
