ఏలూరు నగరంలోని అత్యంత రద్దీ ప్రాంతమైన మెయిన్ బజార్లో శుక్రవారం వన్టౌన్ పోలీసులు నిర్వహించిన ఆకస్మిక ఫుట్ పెట్రోలింగ్తో వ్యాపార వర్గాల్లో కదలిక కనిపించింది. ట్రాఫిక్ సమస్యలు, పాదచారుల ఇబ్బందులు, రోడ్ల ఆక్రమణలపై దృష్టి సారించిన పోలీసులు పలుచోట్ల తనిఖీలు చేపట్టి వ్యాపారులకు కఠిన హెచ్చరికలు జారీ చేశారు.

ఎస్ఐలు సుధాకర్, రామకృష్ణతో పాటు పోలీసు సిబ్బంది మెయిన్ బజార్లో కాలినడకన గస్తీ నిర్వహించారు. ప్రధాన రహదారులపైకి విస్తరించిన దుకాణాల కారణంగా ట్రాఫిక్కు ఏర్పడుతున్న ఆటంకాలను ప్రత్యక్షంగా పరిశీలించారు.
ట్రాఫిక్ జామ్కు కారణమైతే కఠిన చర్యలు :
దుకాణాల ముందుభాగంలో వస్తువులు, ప్రకటన బోర్డులు, ఇతర సామాగ్రిని రోడ్డుపైకి ఉంచడం వల్ల వాహనాల రాకపోకలు మందగిస్తున్నాయని పోలీసులు గుర్తించారు. వ్యాపారులకు రహదారి నిబంధనలపై అవగాహన కల్పిస్తూ, దుకాణాల పరిమితుల్లోనే వ్యాపార కార్యకలాపాలు నిర్వహించాలని సూచించారు.
రోడ్లను ఆక్రమిస్తూ ప్రజలకు ఇబ్బందులు కలిగించే వారిపై భారీ జరిమానాలు విధించడమే కాకుండా, సామాగ్రిని స్వాధీనం చేసుకునేందుకు కూడా వెనుకాడబోమని ఇన్స్పెక్టర్ రామకృష్ణ స్పష్టం చేశారు.
పోలీసుల హెచ్చరికతో వెంటనే స్పందించిన వ్యాపారులు :
పోలీసుల సూచనల అనంతరం పలువురు వ్యాపారులు రోడ్డుపైకి విస్తరించిన తమ వస్తువులు, స్టాండ్లు, బోర్డులను వెంటనే తొలగించి దుకాణాల పరిధిలోకి సర్దుకున్నారు. దీంతో మెయిన్ బజార్లో ట్రాఫిక్ కొంతమేర సాఫీగా మారింది.
ప్రజల నుంచి ప్రశంసలు :
ఎప్పుడూ రద్దీగా ఉండే మెయిన్ బజార్లో ఫుట్ పెట్రోలింగ్ నిర్వహించి ఆక్రమణలపై చర్యలు తీసుకోవడాన్ని స్థానికులు, పాదచారులు, వాహనదారులు స్వాగతించారు. ట్రాఫిక్ క్రమబద్ధీకరణకు ఇటువంటి చర్యలు నిరంతరం కొనసాగాలని అభిప్రాయపడ్డారు.

ట్రాఫిక్కు అంతరాయం కలిగించే చర్యలను ఏ పరిస్థితుల్లోనూ సహించబోమని వన్టౌన్ పోలీసులు స్పష్టం చేశారు. ప్రజా సౌకర్యం, శాంతిభద్రతల పరిరక్షణ కోసం భవిష్యత్తులో కూడా ఆకస్మిక తనిఖీలు, ఫుట్ పెట్రోలింగ్ కార్యక్రమాలు మరింత విస్తృతంగా కొనసాగనున్నట్లు వెల్లడించారు.

A surprise foot patrol conducted by One Town Police in the busy Main Bazaar area of Eluru on Friday created a stir among the business community. Focusing on traffic congestion, pedestrian inconvenience, and road encroachments, police carried out inspections at several locations and issued stern warnings to traders violating regulations.
Vigil on Commercial Encroachments onto Roads :
Acting on the instructions of District Superintendent of Police K. Pratap Shiva Kishore, IPS, and under the supervision of Eluru DSP D. Sravan Kumar, the foot patrol was led by One Town Inspector K. Ramakrishna, along with Sub-Inspectors Sudhakar and Ramakrishna and other police personnel.
The team conducted a thorough inspection of Main Bazaar and closely examined how shops extending their business activities onto the roads were causing traffic disruptions and inconvenience to the public.
Strict Action Against Traffic Obstructions :
Police observed that goods, display stands, signboards, and other materials placed outside shop premises were obstructing the free movement of vehicles and pedestrians. Traders were educated on road safety and civic regulations and were advised to confine their business activities within their designated premises.
Inspector Ramakrishna warned that strict action would be taken against those causing inconvenience to the public by encroaching on roads. He stated that heavy fines could be imposed and materials placed illegally on public roads could also be seized.
Traders Respond Promptly to Police Warning :
Following the police intervention, several traders immediately removed goods, display racks, stands, and signboards that had extended onto the roads and shifted them back within their shop limits. As a result, traffic movement in Main Bazaar improved considerably.
Public Appreciates the Initiative :
Local residents, pedestrians, and motorists welcomed the police action against encroachments in the usually congested Main Bazaar area. Many appreciated the initiative and expressed hope that such drives would continue regularly to ensure smooth traffic flow and public convenience.
Surprise Inspections to Continue :
One Town Police made it clear that any activity causing obstruction to traffic would not be tolerated under any circumstances. They also announced that surprise inspections and foot patrols would continue on a larger scale in the future to safeguard public convenience, maintain law and order, and ensure smooth traffic management.
