తాడేపల్లిగూడెం స్థానిక చేపల మార్కెట్ను సోమవారం మున్సిపల్ కమిషనర్ ఎం. యేసుబాబు ఆకస్మికంగా తనిఖీ చేశారు. ఈ సందర్భంగా చేపల వ్యాపారులు కమిషనర్కు తమ సమస్యలను విన్నవించుకున్నారు.
మార్కెట్లో ఉన్న మరుగుదొడ్లు సరిగా లేకపోవడంతో మహిళా వ్యాపారులు, వినియోగదారులు తీవ్ర ఇబ్బందులు పడుతున్నామని తెలిపారు. డ్రైనేజీ వ్యవస్థ సరిగా లేక మురుగునీరు నిలిచిపోయి దుర్వాసన వస్తోందని, దోమల బెడద పెరిగిందని కమిషనర్ దృష్టికి తీసుకెళ్లారు.
సమస్యలపై స్పందించిన కమిషనర్, మరుగుదొడ్ల మరమ్మతులు, నూతన మరుగుదొడ్ల నిర్మాణానికి వెంటనే ప్రతిపాదనలు సిద్ధం చేయాలని ఇంజనీరింగ్ అధికారులను ఆదేశించారు. డ్రైనేజీ కాలువల్లో పూడిక తీత పనులు చేపట్టి మురుగు నిల్వ లేకుండా చర్యలు తీసుకోవాలని శానిటేషన్ సిబ్బందికి సూచించారు.
మార్కెట్లో వ్యాపారులకు ఎటువంటి అసౌకర్యం కలగకుండా మౌలిక సదుపాయాలు కల్పిస్తామని, పారిశుద్ధ్యంపై ప్రత్యేక దృష్టి సారిస్తామని కమిషనర్ హామీ ఇచ్చారు.
అలాగే వ్యాపారులు, వినియోగదారులు ప్లాస్టిక్ వాడకాన్ని పూర్తిగా నిషేధించి, పర్యావరణ హితమైన సంచులు మాత్రమే వాడాలని సూచించారు. ప్లాస్టిక్ నిషేధాన్ని కఠినంగా అమలు చేస్తామని హెచ్చరించారు.
అనంతరం మార్కెట్ సమీపంలోని అన్నా క్యాంటీన్ను సందర్శించిన కమిషనర్, భోజనం నాణ్యతపై ప్రజలను అడిగి తెలుసుకున్నారు. మెనూ ప్రకారం రుచికరమైన, పౌష్టికాహారం అందించాలని, పరిశుభ్రత పాటించాలని క్యాంటీన్ నిర్వాహకులకు సూచించారు.
ఈ తనిఖీలో మున్సిపల్ అధికారులు, శానిటేషన్ సిబ్బంది, వ్యాపారులు పాల్గొన్నారు.
Fish Vendors Petition Civic Chief Over Market Issues in Tadepalligudem
Fish vendors at the local market met Municipal Commissioner M. Yesubabu on Monday, seeking urgent resolution of several civic issues affecting their daily business. The interaction followed the Commissioner’s surprise inspection of the market.
Vendors, especially women, highlighted the lack of proper sanitation facilities, stating that poorly maintained toilets were causing significant inconvenience. They also raised concerns over an inadequate drainage system, which has led to stagnant wastewater, foul odor, and an increase in mosquito menace.
Responding promptly, the Commissioner directed engineering officials to prepare proposals for repairing existing toilets and constructing new ones. Sanitation staff were instructed to undertake desilting works in drainage channels to prevent water stagnation.
Assuring vendors of improved infrastructure and hygiene, Yesubabu emphasized strict adherence to cleanliness. He also urged traders and customers to completely avoid plastic usage and switch to eco-friendly alternatives, warning of strict enforcement of the ban.
Later, he inspected the nearby Anna Canteen, reviewing food quality and hygiene standards.
