రాజమండ్రి ఆర్టీఓ కార్యాలయంలో డ్రైవర్లలో రోడ్డు భద్రతపై అవగాహన పెంపొందించేందుకు ‘డ్రైవర్ సెన్సిటైజేషన్ ట్యాబ్ ల్యాబ్’ను శనివారం ప్రారంభించారు.
డియాజియో ఇండియా, CSRBOX మరియు ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ రవాణా శాఖ సంయుక్తంగా నిర్వహిస్తున్న ‘రాంగ్ సైడ్ ఆఫ్ ది రోడ్’ కార్యక్రమంలో భాగంగా.. ల్యాబ్ను ఏర్పాటు చేశారు. ఈ కార్యక్రమం ద్వారా కొత్తగా లైసెన్స్ పొందే అభ్యర్థుల్లో బాధ్యతాయుతమైన డ్రైవింగ్ అలవాట్లు పెంపొందించడమే లక్ష్యంగా అధికారులు పేర్కొన్నారు.
ఈ సందర్భంగా జిల్లా రవాణా అధికారి ఆర్. సురేష్ మాట్లాడుతూ :
రోడ్డు ప్రమాదాల నియంత్రణలో భాగంగా డ్రింక్ అండ్ డ్రైవ్పై అవగాహన కల్పించడం అత్యంత కీలకమని తెలిపారు. ఈ ట్యాబ్ ల్యాబ్ ద్వారా కొత్త లైసెన్స్ దరఖాస్తుదారులకు 45 నిమిషాలపాటు ఇంటరాక్టివ్ మాడ్యూల్ను తప్పనిసరిగా పూర్తి చేయాల్సి ఉంటుందని, దీని ద్వారా ట్రాఫిక్ నిబంధనలు, భద్రతా ప్రమాణాలపై సమగ్ర అవగాహన కలుగుతుందని వివరించారు.
ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్లో ఇది నాలుగవ ట్యాబ్ ల్యాబ్ కాగా, దేశవ్యాప్తంగా ఇప్పటికే 83 ల్యాబ్లు ఏర్పాటు చేయబడినట్లు అధికారులు తెలిపారు. 2030 నాటికి దేశవ్యాప్తంగా కనీసం 10 లక్షల మందిలో డ్రింక్ డ్రైవింగ్పై అవగాహన కల్పించాలనే లక్ష్యంతో ఈ కార్యక్రమాన్ని అమలు చేస్తున్నట్లు వెల్లడించారు. సాంకేతికతను వినియోగిస్తూ డ్రైవర్లకు ప్రారంభ దశలోనే సరైన శిక్షణ అందించడం ద్వారా ప్రమాదాలను గణనీయంగా తగ్గించవచ్చని పేర్కొన్నారు.
రోడ్డు భద్రత దిశగా ఇది మరో ముందడుగుగా నిలుస్తుందని అధికారులు అభిప్రాయపడ్డారు. ప్రజలు ట్రాఫిక్ నియమాలను కచ్చితంగా పాటిస్తూ, మద్యం సేవించి వాహనం నడపకుండా జాగ్రత్తలు తీసుకోవాలని సూచించారు. ఈ కార్యక్రమం విజయవంతానికి ప్రజల సహకారం అవసరమని తెలిపారు.

Driver Sensitization Tab Lab Inaugurated at RTO Office in Rajamahendravaram
In a significant step towards enhancing road safety awareness, a “Driver Sensitization Tab Lab” was inaugurated at the Regional Transport Office (RTO) in Rajamahendravaram on Saturday. The initiative aims to instill responsible driving habits among new license applicants and reduce road accidents.
The lab has been set up as part of the “Wrong Side of the Road” campaign, a collaborative effort between Diageo India, CSRBOX, and the Andhra Pradesh Transport Department. Officials stated that the program is designed to create awareness about safe driving practices, particularly focusing on the dangers of drunk driving.
Speaking on the occasion, District Transport Officer R. Suresh emphasized the importance of awareness in curbing road accidents. He noted that all new driving license applicants will be required to complete a 45-minute interactive learning module at the lab. The module covers key aspects such as traffic regulations, road safety standards, and the risks associated with negligent driving.
Authorities revealed that this is the fourth such tab lab in Andhra Pradesh, while 83 similar labs have already been established across the country. The broader objective of the initiative is to educate at least one million individuals about the hazards of drink-and-drive by 2030.
Officials expressed confidence that integrating technology into driver education at an early stage will significantly reduce accidents. They also urged the public to strictly follow traffic rules and avoid driving under the influence of alcohol, stressing that public cooperation is crucial for the success of such safety initiatives
