ద్వారకాతిరుమల శ్రీ వేంకటేశ్వరస్వామి దేవస్థానంలో భక్తుడి వద్ద రూ. లక్ష నగదు చోరీ చేసిన కేసును పోలీసులు వేగంగా ఛేదించారు. సీసీ కెమెరాల ఫుటేజ్, సాంకేతిక ఆధారాలతో ఇద్దరు నిందితులను అరెస్ట్ చేసి, వారి వద్ద నుంచి రూ.80 వేల నగదు, నేరానికి ఉపయోగించిన ఆటోను స్వాధీనం చేసుకున్నారు.
తొలి ఏకాదశి సందర్భంగా దర్శనానికి వచ్చిన ఏలూరు మండలం సుంకరివారి తోటకు చెందిన గూరుగుబెల్లి రమణమూర్తి వద్ద నుంచి రూ. లక్ష నగదు అపహరణకు గురైంది. బాధితుడి ఫిర్యాదుతో కేసు నమోదు చేసిన పోలీసులు జిల్లా ఎస్పీ కె. ప్రతాప్ శివకిషోర్ ఆదేశాల మేరకు దర్యాప్తు చేపట్టి నిందితులను గుర్తించారు. పరారీలో ఉన్న మరో నిందితుడిని త్వరలో అరెస్ట్ చేసి మిగిలిన రూ.20 వేల నగదును కూడా రికవరీ చేస్తామని ఎస్ఐ టి. సుధీర్ తెలిపారు. కేసును ఛేదించిన పోలీసు బృందాన్ని ఉన్నతాధికారులు అభినందించారు. భక్తులు రద్దీ ప్రాంతాల్లో నగదు, విలువైన వస్తువుల విషయంలో అప్రమత్తంగా ఉండాలని పోలీసులు సూచించారు.
Temple Theft Cracked; Two Arrested, ₹80,000 Recovered in Dwaraka Tirumala
In a swift breakthrough, the Dwaraka Tirumala Police cracked a cash theft case reported at the renowned Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple and arrested two accused persons. Police recovered ₹80,000 in cash and seized the autorickshaw allegedly used in the commission of the offence.
The incident occurred during the heavy rush of devotees on Tholi Ekadashi, when a devotee, Gurugubelli Ramanamurthy of Sunkarivarithota in Eluru Mandal, reportedly lost ₹1 lakh while visiting the temple for darshan.
Acting on the victim’s complaint, the police registered a case and launched an intensive investigation under the directions of Eluru Superintendent of Police K. Pratap Shiv Kishore. By analysing CCTV footage and gathering technical evidence, investigators identified and apprehended two suspects involved in the theft.
Sub-Inspector T. Sudheer said one more accused, who is currently absconding, is expected to be arrested shortly. Police are also making efforts to recover the remaining ₹20,000 allegedly taken in the offence.
Senior police officials commended the investigation team for the prompt detection of the case. The police have also advised devotees visiting crowded religious places to remain vigilant and exercise caution while carrying cash and other valuables.
