Today, Telugu Desam Party MPs met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Parliament. On this occasion, Eluru MP Shri Putta Mahesh Kumar issued a press statement, informing that he brought the challenges faced by palm oil farmers to the attention of the Prime Minister.
The MP stated that he is consistently taking up pending projects and various issues concerning Andhra Pradesh—particularly those related to the Eluru Parliamentary Constituency—with the Central. He added that Union Ministers and officials are responding positively.
Expressing satisfaction over the sanctioning of the long-awaited Kovvur – Bhadrachalam railway line, which is crucial for the people of Chintalapudi, Polavaram Assembly segments, and the broader region of Uttarandhra and both Godavari districts, the MP noted that the DPR (Detailed Project Report) has already been prepared.
He mentioned that during a recent meeting, the Railway Minister assured that works would commence soon. He also stated that 12 ROBs (Railway Over Bridges) have received the green signal from the Central, and land acquisition under the supervision of the District Collector will be completed in the next two to three months, after which construction will begin.
The Central has also agreed to release the necessary funds for land acquisition.In addition to the 12 sanctioned ROBs, a representation was submitted to Union Railway Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnav requesting approval for four more ROBs in the Kaikalur Assembly constituency.
Regarding tobacco farmers, MP Putta Mahesh Kumar brought to the notice of the Union Commerce Minister the need to remove the ceiling limit on tobacco procurement and allow the sale of excess produce. The Minister assured that an order would be issued in the coming week.
The MP also shared that efforts are underway to fix a price for palm oil to support palm oil farmers.MP Putta Mahesh Kumar affirmed that during this parliamentary session, he is making every effort to raise all pending projects and constituency issues in the Lok Sabha and is continuously pursuing the matter with Union Ministers to ensure project approvals and release of funds.
