స్వాతంత్ర్య సమరయోధుల త్యాగాలను స్మరించుకోవడం ప్రతి భారతీయుడి బాధ్యత అని ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ ప్రభుత్వ విప్, ఎమ్మెల్యే తంగిరాల సౌమ్య అన్నారు. 80వ స్వాతంత్ర్య దినోత్సవాన్ని పురస్కరించుకుని నందిగామ రైతుపేటలోని టీడీపీ కార్యాలయం వద్ద నిర్వహించిన జెండా ఆవిష్కరణ కార్యక్రమంలో కూటమి నేతలతో కలిసి ఆమె జాతీయ పతాకాన్ని ఎగురవేశారు. అనంతరం జాతీయ గీతాన్ని ఆలపించారు.
ఈ సందర్భంగా ఎమ్మెల్యే సౌమ్య మాట్లాడుతూ :
స్వాతంత్ర్యం కోసం ఎందరో మహనీయులు తమ ప్రాణాలను త్యాగం చేశారని, వారి దేశభక్తి నేటి తరానికి స్ఫూర్తిగా నిలవాలని అన్నారు. దేశ ఐక్యత, సమగ్రతను కాపాడుతూ అభివృద్ధికి ప్రతి ఒక్కరూ తమ వంతు కృషి చేయాలని పిలుపునిచ్చారు.
Freedom Fighters’ Sacrifices Must Be Remembered

Andhra Pradesh Government Whip and Nandigama MLA Tangirala Soumya called upon people to remember and honour the sacrifices of the freedom fighters who laid down their lives for India’s independence.
Speaking at an Independence Day flag-hoisting ceremony held at the Telugu Desam Party office in Rythupeta, Nandigama, on the occasion of the 80th Independence Day, Soumya unfurled the national flag in the presence of alliance leaders and party workers. The gathering subsequently joined in the rendition of the National Anthem.
Soumya said the sacrifices and patriotism of the freedom fighters constituted an enduring source of inspiration for the present generation. She stressed the importance of preserving the values for which the freedom struggle was fought and urged citizens to uphold national unity and integrity.
She further called upon people to contribute to the country’s development and discharge their responsibilities as citizens with a strong sense of patriotism and social commitment.
The programme was attended by alliance leaders, party representatives and supporters.
