ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్లోని కడప జిల్లాలో ఉన్న మద్విరాట్ పోతులూరి వీరబ్రహ్మేంద్ర స్వామి మఠం కోసం ప్రసాద్ (తీర్థయాత్ర పునరుజ్జీవనం మరియు ఆధ్యాత్మిక వృద్ధి డ్రైవ్-PRASAD) పథకం కింద నిధులు మంజూరు చేయాలని ఏలూరు ఎంపీ పుట్టా మహేష్ కుమార్ కేంద్రాన్ని కోరారు. ఢిల్లీలో తన తండ్రి, మైదుకూరు ఎమ్మెల్యే సుధాకర్ యాదవ్ తో కలిసి కేంద్ర పర్యాటక శాఖా మంత్రి గజేంద్ర సింగ్ షెకావత్ ను కలిసిన ఎంపీ ఈ మేరకు కేంద్ర మంత్రికి వినతి పత్రం అందజేశారు.
బ్రహ్మం గారి మఠం విషయంలో, ప్రతిపాదిత అభివృద్ధి పనులకు సంబంధించిన వివరణాత్మక ప్రాజెక్టు నివేదికను (DPR) ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ ప్రభుత్వం ద్వారా కేంద్ర పర్యాటక మంత్రిత్వ శాఖకు ఇప్పటికే సమర్పించిన్నట్లు చెప్పిన ఎంపీ, మద్విరాట్ పోతులూరి వీరబ్రహ్మేంద్ర స్వామి మఠం యొక్క మత, చారిత్రక మరియు సాంస్కృతిక ప్రాముఖ్యతను కేంద్ర మంత్రికి వివరించారు.
ఈ క్షేత్రానికి ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ తో పాటు ఇతర రాష్ట్రాల నుండి వేలాదిగా భక్తులు వస్తారని, “ప్రసాద్ ” పథకం కింద మౌలిక సదుపాయాలను మెరుగుపరచి మఠాన్ని అభివృద్ధి చేయడం వల్ల యాత్రికుల సౌకర్యాలు పెరిగి, ఆధ్యాత్మిక పర్యాటకానికి ప్రోత్సాహం లభించడంతో పాటు స్థానిక ఉపాధి అవకాశాలు పెరుగుతాయని ఎంపీ వివరించారు.
కేంద్ర మంత్రిని కలిసిన అనంతరం ఎంపీ మీడియాకు ఒక ప్రకటన విడుదల చేశారు. కడప జిల్లాతో పాటు ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ ప్రజలందరికీ పుణ్యక్షేత్రంగా విరాజిల్లుతున్న వీరబ్రహ్మేంద్ర స్వామి మఠం అభివృద్ధి ప్రాజెక్టు గురించి కేంద్రమంత్రి గజేంద్ర సింగ్ షెకావత్ తో మాట్లాడటం జరిగిందని, 2026-27 ఆర్ధిక సంవత్సరంలో నిధుల కేటాయింపు చేస్తామని హమీ ఇచ్చారని ఎంపీ పుట్టా మహేష్ కుమార్ వెల్లడించారు.

The Union Minister assured that funds would be allocated in the coming financial year.
Eluru/Delhi, February 09: Eluru MP Putta Mahesh Kumar has requested the Central Government to sanction funds under the PRASAD (Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Augmentation Drive) scheme for the Sri Madvirat Potuluri Veerabrahmendra Swamy Matham located in Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh. The MP, along with his father and Mydukur MLA Sudhakar Yadav, met with Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat in Delhi and submitted a representation to the Union Minister in this regard.
Regarding Brahmamgari Matham, the MP informed the Union Minister that a detailed project report (DPR) related to the proposed development works has already been submitted to the Union Ministry of Tourism through the Government of Andhra Pradesh. He also explained the religious, historical, and cultural significance of Sri Madvirat Potuluri Veerabrahmendra Swamy Matham to the Union Minister. The MP explained that thousands of devotees visit this shrine from Andhra Pradesh and other states, and that improving the infrastructure under the “Prasad” scheme and developing the monastery would enhance facilities for pilgrims, promote spiritual tourism, and increase local employment opportunities.
After meeting the Union Minister, the MP released a statement to the media. MP Putta Mahesh Kumar revealed that he had discussed the development project of the Veerabrahmendra Swamy Math, a revered pilgrimage site for the people of Kadapa district and all of Andhra Pradesh, with Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, and that the minister had assured him of fund allocation in the 2026-27 financial year.
