మహాత్మా గాంధీ జాతీయ ఉపాధి హామీ పథకం కింద జరిగిన పనులపై స్థానిక పెదపల్ల గ్రామపంచాయతీ వద్ద జాతీయ ఉపాధిహామీ పథకం కింద జరిగిన పనులపై స్థానిక పెదపల్ల గ్రామపంచాయతీ కార్యాలయం వద్ద సామాజిక తనిఖీ గ్రామసభ నిర్వహించారు. ఈ కార్యక్రమంలో ముఖ్యఅతిథిగా చింతలూరు నీటి సంఘం అధ్యక్షుడు, జనసేన నాయకులు గారపాటి శ్రీనివాస్ పాల్గొన్నారు.

గ్రామీణ ప్రాంతాల్లో కూలీలకు ఉపాధి హామీ కల్పించడమే కాకుండా గ్రామ అభివృద్ధికి ఈ పథకం ఎంతో దోహదపడుతుందని పేర్కొన్నారు. సామాజిక తనిఖీ (సోషల్ ఆడిట్) ద్వారా పనుల్లో జవాబు దారితనం పెరుగుతుందని ప్రతి పైసా దుర్వినియోగం అవకుండా ఉండేలా చూసే బాధ్యత అందరి పైన ఉందని ఆయన గుర్తు చేశారు. ఉపాధి హామీ పనులను పూర్తి పారదర్శకంగా వినియోగించాలని..చేస్తున్న పనుల్లో నాణ్యత ప్రమాణాలను పాటించాలని మేట్లను కోరారు.
నీటి సంఘం అధ్యక్షునిగా చెరువులు పూడిక తీత మరియు ఫీల్డ్ చానల్స్ నిర్మాణ పనులు ప్రాముఖ్యతను వివరించారు. ఈ పనుల వల్ల భూగర్భ జలాలు పెరిగి రైతులకు మేలు చేకూరుతుందని తెలిపారు. సామాజిక తనిఖీలో గుర్తించిన అంశాలపై చర్చించి లోపాలను వెంటనే సరిదిద్దాలని సూచించారు.
బోదులలో (కాలువలలో) చెత్తా – చెదారం వేయడం వల్ల ఉపాధి హామీ శ్రామికులు కాలువలలో దిగి పని చేయడానికి తీవ్ర అంతరాయం కలుగుతుంది కాబట్టి.. పంచాయతీ సిబ్బంది ప్రతిరోజూ కాలువలలో ప్రజలు చెత్తా – చెదారం వేయకుండా కాలువల వద్ద సూచిక బోర్డులను పెట్టి, అలా చేసిన వారిపై జరిమానా మరియు శిక్ష విధించబడుతుందని హెచ్చరిక బోర్డులను పెట్టాలని సూచించారు.
కార్యక్రమంలో సామాజిక తనిఖీ బృందం సభ్యులు, ఉపాధి హామీ సిబ్బంది, గ్రామ కూలీలు మరియు గ్రామ పెద్ద సంఖ్యలో పాల్గొన్నారు.

Emphasizing accountability in Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGA) projects, Water Committee Chairman and Jana Sena leader Garapati Srinivas Chowdary urged strict adherence to quality standards during a social audit Gram Sabha at Peddapalli Gram Panchayat in Alamuru Mandal.
The event reviewed ongoing works under the scheme, with Srinivas as chief guest. He highlighted how MGNREGA not only provides employment to rural laborers but also drives village development. “Social audits ensure responsibility and prevent misuse of every paisa,” he stated, calling for complete transparency in fund utilization.
Srinivas stressed the importance of desilting ponds and constructing field channels, noting these efforts recharge groundwater and benefit farmers. He advised immediate rectification of issues identified in the audit.
Addressing a key concern, he warned against dumping waste in canals, which hinders workers. “Panchayat staff must install warning boards at canal sites, impose fines, and penalize offenders to keep channels clear,” he directed.
The program saw participation from social audit team members, MGNREGA staff, laborers, and villagers. Srinivas reiterated that quality and transparency remain top priorities.
