Andhra Pradesh Alluri Seetharamaraju District Tribal students are not lagging behind in anything Congratulations to the district administration for striving for the health of students* — District In-Charge Minister Gummadi Sandhya Rani Paderu, April 07: District In-Charge Minister Gummadi Sandhya Rani stated that it is a matter of pride that 21,000 tribal students, proving they are not behind in anything, have been practicing yoga for the past five months and stepped forward on Monday to achieve a world record by performing 108 Surya Namaskars. She highlighted that around 21,850 students from five mandals participated in this program, with over 13,000 of them being girls, which is a remarkable achievement. She added that organizing this event on World Health Day is a positive sign. She expressed gratitude to the district administration for their efforts toward the health of tribal students. District Collector A.S. Dinesh Kumar, speaking on the occasion, said that for the past five months, students in hostels have been woken up at 4 a.m. and made to practice yoga, which has improved their concentration, thinking ability, and physical and mental health. He noted that students who used to visit the hospital four or five times a year no longer need to do so, and their progress in academics and sports has been observed. He congratulated Patanjali Srinivas, school PETs (Physical Education Teachers), teachers, and tribal welfare officials for their cooperation in this initiative. Following this, the program of 108 Surya Namaskars was inaugurated under the leadership of Patanjali Srinivas, with the blowing of a conch. Ms. Alice Raynaud, Manager of the London-based World Records Union, arrived from Chennai to certify this world record. She thoroughly inspected the entire ground. The event was attended by Joint Collector Dr. Abhishek Gaud, SP Amit Bardhar, Sub-Collector Sauriyaman Patel, ASP Dheeraj, RTC Chairman Donnu Dora, and others.
